TOPIC: JESUS TEACHES THE TEACHER

 

Nicodemus is an accomplished religious authority and a teacher par excellence, the modern equivalent of Reverend Professor Nicodemus Buni Ben Gorion, for that is his name according to the Jewish Talmud literature. Jesus reminded Nicodemus, “You are Israel’s teacher, and you do not understand these things?”

 

Modern-day Nicodemus need to be reminded that their academic and logical accomplishments cannot earn them salvation if they are not born again. Everyone needs to seriously reflect on the implications of John 3:16 was said within the context of Christ’s discourse with one of the greatest teachers, an established religious authority and Pharisee.

 

 

John 3:16 remains the passage or text for any reflection on God’s plan of salvation. It is an authoritative and often quoted passage relating to the fact that Jesus Christ is the only way to God. If you don’t know Jesus, you do not know God. No serious Christian needs to apologize for believing that Jesus is the only way to God.

 

QUESTION: Are you humble enough to allow Jesus to teach you once again about the basics of salvation?

 

PRAYER: Make me humble, O Lord, to be able to deeply reflect on John 3:16.
