TEXT: Psalm
17:1-15
TOPIC: CAN
YOU WITHSTAND GOD’S PROBE?
Psalm
17 was written from the ashes of fourth degree slander when the Psalmist's life
was in danger.
In
his prayers, he asked for justice, deliverance and condemnation of those who
falsely accused him of wrongdoing.
He
activated his prayers with these three synonyms of verbs addressed to the Lord:
"hear me, listen, and give ear..."
These
synonyms showcase David's assurance and confidence that God will hear and
answer his prayers because he did not cherish sin in his heart.
The
Psalmist had the confidence to ask God to probe, examine and test his heart.
He
assured him that evil plans bribery, deceitful lips and keeping company of
violent people would not be found lurking in his heart.
In
other words, David affirmed that affirmed the confidence that his life was an
open book which God could examine and find no guilt therein.
QUESTION:
Can you withstand God's probe?
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, I don't have the courage to invite You to
inspect my heart. I am afraid You might discover an abominable content. Please
have mercy on me, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Blessed
