TEXT: Psalm
18:30-50
TOPIC: WHO
TAKES THE CREDIT FOR YOUR SUCESSES?
David rose from being a
fugitive to an influential king. He gives all the credit to the Lord: “It is
God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure. He makes my feet like
the feet of a deer…he trains my hands for battle…” (Psalm 18:32-36).
It is God that gives
kings victory. But secular politicians ascribe their successes to human beings.
In Nigeria, four opposition
parties had formed a coalition to challenge the ruling PDP during the Goodluck
Jonathan administration. The coalition, which came to be known as the APC, included
CAN, APGA, ANPP and CPC.
Lai Mohammed, who later
became information minister, was quoted to have said: “We are very confident
that with this merger it’s a matter of time before you see the total defeat of
the PDP as a result of this merger.”
Apparently, God was not
in the equation but the power of the coalition.
QUESTION: Do
you attribute your success to God or other mundane forces?
PRAYER: Help me to attribute all of my successes and
victories to You and You alone. Amen.

Remain
Blessed
