5:14-19

WITH CONTENTMENT…
Nehemiah was the governor
of Judah. He realized the heavy burden his predecessors placed on the people
and resolved not to enjoy the perks of his office.
He fed 150 Jews and
officials as well as visitors from surrounding nations. Verse 18 shows the
budget for the feeding Nehemiah’s house each day.
You wonder how he kept
life going when he denied what was allocated to his office. The secret is in 1
Timothy 6:6. Christians leaders need to copy from Nehemiah to ease the burden
of their subjects.
QUESTION:
Are you like Nehemiah in your stewardship?
PRAYER:
Father, help Christian leaders to sacrifice certain rights and privileges for
the sake of those they lead, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
