TEXT:
Jeremiah 29:13
TOPIC:
YOU WILL SEEK ME AND FIND ME
Today’s topic, which is
ECWA’s theme for this year, picks up from the historic narrative of last year’s
theme. Babylon, under king Nebuchadnezzar, was threatening Judah according to
the records of Habakkuk.
Now in Jeremiah, we
meet God’s people already in captivity in Babylon.
King Nebuchadnezzar has
finally done his worse. Bad as it sounds, however, this is a fulfillment of
what God had said. So, it is not taking Him by surprise.
In fact, He allowed it
to happen. Hence, He encourages the people not to panic but to relax in their
place of captivity – seek its peace, farm, marry, give into marriage, and
multiply. God is often in odd places.
Perhaps, you are at a
point and position where God does not appear to be making sense.
You cannot understand
why God will not fix your marriage, bring your wayward son back home, cure you
that sickness. Don’t despair. Keep seeking Him. You will find Him!
QUESTION:
Have sought God in that odd place you are stuck?
PRAYER:
Lord, help me to seek You where I am. Help me to find You. Amen.
Remain
Blessed
