TEXT:
Genesis 5:1-4
1: This is the written
account of Adam’s family line. When God created mankind, he made them in the
likeness of God.
2: He created them male
and female and blessed them. And he named them “Mankind” when they were
created.
3: When Adam had lived
130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him
Seth.
4: After Seth was born,
Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.

TOPIC:
FADING INTO THE IMAGE OF GOD
Chameleons are small
animals belonging to the family of lizards. They have distinct abilities, among
others, to change their colour to reflect their environment.
They do this primarily as
a camouflage, to communicate with other chameleons, and to show their mood.
Today's text speaks about
God creating the male and female in the perfect state of His likeness. In other
words, reflecting Him in some of His communicable attributes.
The second part of the
text speaks about Adam's son, Seth, being born in the fallen image and likeness
of his father. So, while Adam and Eve in their original state of creation
mirrored God, Seth mirrored his father's imperfect state.
As you seek God with all
your heart, you are to daily fade into His image of holiness. This means that
you should ideally, grow daily to be more and more like Jesus Christ.
Your daily interface with
God, as you seek Him, should reflect that reality. The beauty and holiness of
God should daily rob off on you!
QUESTION:
What is keeping you from reflecting the radiance of God?
PRAYER:
Father, work on me to reflect Your image. Also help me to daily reflect Your
glory and grandeur. Amen.

Remain
Blessed
