Genesis 12:10-20
TOPIC:
WHEN OUR FAITH FAILS
Abraham is called the
father of faith, but even he had his low times when his faith failed him.
In today’s passage, he
became afraid that Pharaoh might kill him and take his very beautiful wife,
Sarah. So, Abraham told Sarah to tell a half-truth to Pharaoh, that she was his
sister, which effectively was a lie. Most half-truths are for the purpose of
lying!
But God is good,
gracious, and merciful and so, when Abraham’s faith failed him, God’s grace
prevailed and God protected Sarah from being molested.
QUESTION:
Do you have the habit of telling half-truths as a clever way of lying?
PRAYER:
Oh God, help me not to tell lies disguised as half-truths. Instead, when my
faith fails me like father Abraham, I pray that Your grace would prevail, in
Jesus’ name. Amen.
Remain
Blessed
