Genesis 13:1-18
TOPIC:
BE LED BY GOD AND NOT BY CARNAL DESIRES
There is no doubt that
the great wealth that Lot, the nephew of Abraham, was enjoying was an overflow
of God’s grace upon Abraham, the man of faith and a worshiper of God in spirit
and in truth.
One would also have
expected that when Abraham proposed that they should amicably separate and keep
distance because of the Lord’s great blessing of herds and flocks upon them,
Lot would have asked Abraham to make his choice first as the elder.
Then he could take
whichever part of the land that was left by Abraham. Instead, Lot looked up and
chose the fertile part of the land out of very selfish greed.
Lot was not led by the
Lord, but driven by flesh or carnal selfish greed and as a result, he chose
worldly blessings at the very cost of his spiritual life and even physical
survival, as the place he chose had very sinful inhabitants, which eventually
led to their judgment and destruction.
QUESTION:
Are you led by the Spirit of God in making decisions or carnal desires?
PRAYER:
Oh God, help me not to be led by carnal desires but by Your Spirit in making
decisions in my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Remain
Blessed
