TEXT: GENESIS 4:1-12

 

TOPIC: OFFER THE ABEL SACRIFICE

 

God did not reject Cain's sacrifice because his was fruits of the soil, but because he was careless with his offering and did not bring the best of God's blessings upon him for sacrifice. Cain simply brought just some of the fruit of the soil.

 

On the other hand, God did not accept Abel's offering because they were of animals, but because Abel was careful enough to offer unto God the very best of God's blessings upon his life. He gave God fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. Of course, God was pleased with Abel's offering and displeased with Cain's, and Cain became jealous of Abel.

 

Ask God for the grace to offer Him your best so that you could not be jealous of those God is pleased with.

 

QUESTION: Are you offering God the Abel sacrifice, your very best of His spiritual, physical and material/financial blessings upon my life?

 

PRAYER: Oh Lord, grant me the grace to always offer the Abel sacrifice to You, in Jesus' name. Amen.
