Streams of Faith: Daily Reflections on God's Goodness

WEDNESDAY, 6 NOVEMBER 2024

TEXT: JOB 11:1-20

TOPIC: GOD'S GREATNESS, WISDOM AND SOVEREIGNTY CANNOT BE FATHOMED

Job's third friend, Zophar also came to offer succor in his time of suffering. He challenged Job to stop idle talk because no number of words could vindicate him.

He wanted God to open His lips and speak so that Job would know that he had sinned. He described God's greatness and stated that His wisdom and sovereignty cannot be fathomed.

He vehemently claimed that it was because of sin that Job was suffering but if he was ready to repent and come back to God, then a new thing will happen in his life as the troubles and calamities will disappear.

He maintained that despite what Job was going through, if he turned to God, there was still hope that he would be at peace but the wicked would not be spared.

QUESTION: Can mortal man fathom the mysteries of God?

PRAYER: Help me, Lord Jesus, to see and accept Your sovereignty. Help me today and always to understand your mysteries, in Jesus name. Amen.
