Job 5:1-27
TOPIC:
BELIEVERS HAVE HOPE AMID SUFFERING
Job’s response moved
his friends into actions. Eliphaz concluded that Job’s suffering was as a
result of the traditional ancient teaching which claimed if a man suffered it
was because he had sinned and that no righteous person suffered nor perished.
Today, there are some
people in the church who also believe in that doctrine.
But there are three
things that led to Job’s suffering: i. God may permit Satan to test a believer
for correction. Ii. Satan may be behind a believer’s suffering but, he may not
know. Iii. In all suffering, God’s solution is supreme and far richer than what
a man can proffer.
Contrary to what Job’s
friend taught and claimed, there is assurance that God is good and is always in
control.
Therefore, believers
have hope even in the midst of suffering.
QUESTION:
What kind of suffering makes you feel hopeless?
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, You know the suffering we are passing through in this country (Mention your country) as individuals and the Church of Jesus Christ. We look up to You for hope for the hopeless this year. Amen.
Remain
Blessed
