TEXT:
Acts 28:1-15
TOPIC:
TAKING THE GOSPEL TO ROME, DESPITE SUFFERING AND OBSTACLE
Apostle Paul and his
companions were well-received in Rome and a welcome ceremony was organized for
them by the inhabitants of the Island of Malta.
Following the incident
of the viper, the people thought that he would die because he was a sinner. But
because nothing unusual happened to him, they changed their minds.
Sometimes, a believer
may be going through so much suffering that people would think that it is
because of his sins.
But in all
circumstances, God’s watchful eyes and care are demonstrated in believer’s
lives.
If we are faithful to
God and are living as true servants, God will always deliver and keep us away
from trials.
Some people saw Paul as
a terrible evil, while others concluded that he was a god. He has none of these
but a child of God who is always faithful to His own.
It has been
demonstrated that all of Jesus’ work on the cross satisfied divine justice. All
of Paul’s sins were paid for by the work of Jesus on the cross.
That is relevant to
anyone who has a personal encounter with Christ and totally surrenders his life
to Him.
All of what we have
studied about Paul and his companions so far has revealed that there will
always obstacles for anyone who is following Christ.
But God will always
fulfill His promises in the lives of believers going through trials,
temptations and suffering.
QUESTION:
What suffering are you passing through as a believer?
PRAYER:
Lord, let me be focused on the goal ahead, in Jesus name. Amen.
Remain
Blessed
