Soul-Deep Reflections: Daily Insights from Scripture

FRIDAY, 20 SEPTEMBER 2024

TEXT: 1 Chronicles 16:26-27

26. For all the gods of the peoples are [lifeless] idols, But the LORD made the heavens.

27. Splendor and majesty are [found] in His presence; Strength and joy are [found] in His place (Sanctuary).

(Amplified Version Holy Bible)

TOPIC: GOD IS MIGHTIER THAN GODS

It is unfortunate that, even today, some people seek after idols for protection, prosperity, fruits of the womb, etc. Such people prefer idols to God even though such graven images cannot walk, talk or create anything.

Today's text shows us how nations love idols but forgot that these hand-made objects cannot create anything the way God Almighty made the heavens and the earth and everything therein.

God also demonstrates His might in His majesty - which is impressive and great beyond the supposed power of idols. Moreover, it is only in the dwelling place of God Almighty that strength and joy are derived.

QUESTION: Do you view God as The Creator of all things or as an idol?

PRAYER: Lord God, help me to always see You as the great God that has the power to do the unimaginable and is mightier than the gods of the nations of the world, in Jesus name. Amen.
