TEXT:
2 Peter 3:8-9
8:
But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a
thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.
9:
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness.
Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to
come to repentance.

Bible)
TOPIC:
GOD'S VIEW OF TIME
The
dictionary defines time as the progress of existence and events in the past,
present and future.
Further
inference also connotes that time is a consumable commodity which, once
expended, cannot be recovered. Our definition, of course, is only based on
human linear terms.
When
God is brought into the scene as we see in today's text, however, time takes on
an entirely different meaning. This is because God is not controlled or
regulated by our human system of time.
God
Himself is TIME as He determines how and when things and events occur. To God,
therefore, a thousand years are like a day and a day is like a thousand years!
In
the context of our theme for this year, the vision which is yet for an
appointed time symbolically demands that we wait on God, who Himself is TIME!
Outside God, there is no Time.
We
should go back to God and learn His time like we did when we were in primary
school - the hour hand, minutes and seconds. In doing this, we should neither
fret nor become anxious about things over which we have no control.
QUESTION:
Please, what is your time? What is God's TIME?
PRAYER:
Forgive me, O Lord, for attempting to time You by my own sense of time. Teach
me how to read and understand Your clock and time, in Jesus name. Amen.
Remain
Blessed
