TOPIC:
TRYING TIME FOR A VISION
John
the Baptizer was particularly sent to earth as a forerunner to announce the
Messiah and His mission on earth. Therefore, he announced Jesus publicly and
baptized Him.
However,
today's text points us to a trying time in the life and ministry of John. He
questioned if Jesus the Messiah was indeed the one they were expecting or not
because his freedom and personal comfort were in jeopardy. He expected the
Messiah to come to his rescue, but that was not forth coming!
Do
not forget that this was generally the expectation of the Jewish people
concerning the Messiah. Perhaps John's ministry vision did not align with
Jesus'. A vision would face difficulties if it does not align with that of the
Lord.
Jesus
was focused on a larger ministry frame than teaching one man! He concentrated
on restoring sight and hearing to the blind and deaf, making the lame walk and
lepers whole, raising the dead and proclaiming the good news of the Kingdom to
the poor.
QUESTION:
When last did you check to see if your ministry vision was aligned with the
Lord's?
PRAYER:
Lord, please help me to see ministry the way You do, in Jesus name. Amen.
Remain
Blessed
