Numbers 27:12-23
TOPIC:
JOSHUA: GOD’S CHOICE OF A LEADER
God
does not choose leaders arbitrarily. Leaders exhibit some characteristics such
as devotion, passion and loyalty. God's testimony about Joshua hinted that he
had been chosen. Leadership succession plan is paramount in God's eternal plan
as no vacuum is allowed.
Moses
and Aaron had lost the privilege of leading the Israelites to the Promised
Land. All along, young Joshua was with Moses and Aaron as they led God's
people. At God's time, He said to Moses, "Go up this mountain in the
Abarim and see the land I have given the Israelites.." (vs 12-17).
Here,
we see the tragedy of leaders who have been frustrated into sinning against God
and lose their reward unfolding. Joshua was identified as a man who had the
spirit to lead and the hands of the priest were laid on him.
As
leaders, we shouldn't allow followers act against God's clear instructions, as
it happened in the case of Moses.
QUESTION:
Will you meet God's standards when He selects you for a leadership position?
PRAYER: Dear
Lord, give me the spirit of humility as I learn under Your servants and keep me
away from anger, in Jesus name. Amen.
Remain
Blessed
