Therefore, rid yourselves all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and
slander of every kind.

Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up
in your salvation,

now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.

TOPIC:
THE RIGHT CRAVING
Craving
has to do with a strong desire for something to satisfy an appetite.
Craving
here refers to having a strong desire for 'spiritual milk' as a new born baby
desires milk to grow.
Christians
are charged to desire God's Word in order to grow (vs. 1-2).
Unfortunately,
people crave for things like the latest cars in town, clothes, shoes, etc, not
knowing that such things cannot and do not bring growth to a man's life.
It
should be a natural instinct for Christians to desire God's Word in order to
live and grow.
The
desire for this spiritual milk causes one to get rid of all malice, deceit,
hypocrisy, envy and slander which do not bring growth.
QUESTION:
Do you crave for God's Word or the latest cars, clothes, houses and such other
material things?
PRAYER:
Father, help me to have a strong desire for Your Word which has the potential
to help me do away with any kind of evil and enhance my spiritual growth, in
Jesus name. Amen.
