What Is Daily Devotions Mean To You?

Daily Devotions means daily encounter with Christ or in other words, Christ take over my life as I go my daily activities. Let your Holy Spirit not depart from me. And help me to be caution of my daily activities my reminding of the Cross. That's why I seek His face early in the morning to take control of me.

To also protect my going out and my coming in. Since temptations are all around me, help me not to fall into temptation and granting me Your grace always. Amen. That's what Daily Devotions mean to me.

TEXT: Romans 1:1-7

1: Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God—

2: the gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures

3: regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life was a descendant of David,

4: and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.

5: Through him we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith for his name’s sake.

6: And you also are among those Gentiles who are called to belong to Jesus Christ.

7: To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be his holy people: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

(New International Version Holy Bible)

TOPIC: CALLED TO BE SAINTS

Paul opens the book of Romans with a general introduction.

First, he introduces himself as a slave of Jesus Christ. The Roman mind considers the slave among the lowest people in society. Perhaps that was Paul's way of demonstrating true humility.

Second, he presented the content of his message as the Gospel that God promised through His promise. This Gospel concerns the Lord Jesus Christ Who is not only the Son of God but also died and resurrected so that he and others might receive grace not only for salvation but that they may call other Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith. This confession is huge to the Gentiles who were considered not fit to be saved let alone designated as saints.

In the same manner that these believers were saved because Jesus paid the price for their salvation, so also are all of us privileged. We who have accepted Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord have also been called to belong to Him and by this we are set apart for Him and His glory.

QUESTION: Do you know that you are a saint whose life must be lived for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ?

PRAYER: Take time to appreciate God Who in Christ Jesus has not only saved you but set you apart for Himself.
