What verse in the Bible says Vengeance is Mine?
Vengeance is Mine says
the Lord. Deuteronomy 32:35 and Romans 12:19, English Standard Version (ESV) Holy Bible.
In this article we will
be discussing about vengeance. What Bible says about vengeance? And what
believers do when being ‘wrong’ by someone? Are we to revenge for someone that
do us wrong? For these and many more.
As believer in Christ, we
don’t have power of our own. Jesus is our everything, He can do what man cannot
do. If God is for us who can be against us. Absolutely, no one. All the
so-called powers of this world can fail, they are man-made or powers received
the pitch of heal which Jesus has conquered thousand years ago on the cross.
We don’t have to behalf
like people that are without hope. Small something, we react as unbeliever. Is
only Jesus that can fight our battle. So, how do we threatened one with our
position or influence? Knowing fully well that we are urged to love another
just as Christ love the world and give His life for her.

If any we are not
comfortably with, we should tabled it before God. He knows the best way to
handle it and not on our own way. In trying to do it our own way, we end up
sinning against our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
In view of the above and
many more, here are some Bible verses that encourages us to leave everything in
God’s hand that’s why we write this article to give some Bible verses for
revenge, that it is ONLY God that can revenge for any injustice melted on us. So
relax and read throughout this article to the end.

it will be stated after the verse.
1. Leviticus 19:18 – You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge
against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as
yourself: I am the Lord.
2. Leviticus 26:25 – And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall
execute vengeance for the covenant. And if you gather within your cities, I will
send pestilence among you, and you shall be delivered into the hand of the
enemy.
3. Numbers 31:3-4
3 – So Moses spoke to the people, saying, “Arm men from among you
for the war, that they may go against Midian to execute the Lord’s vengeance on
Midian.
Verse 4 - You shall send a thousand from each of the tribes of Israel to
the war.”
4. Deuteronomy 32:35, 41
Verse 35 – Vengeance is mine, and recompense, for the time when their foot
shall slip; for the day of their calamity is at hand, and their doom comes
swiftly.
Verse 41 – if I sharpen my flashing sword and my hand takes hold on
judgment, I will take vengeance on my adversaries and will repay those who hate
me.
5. 1 Samuel 24:12 – May the Lord judge between me and you, may
the Lord avenge me against you, but my hand shall not be against you.
6. Psalm 94:1 – O Lord, God of vengeance, O God of vengeance, shine forth!
7. Psalm 99:8 – O Lord our God, you answered them; you were a forgiving God to
them, but an avenger of their wrongdoings.
8. Proverbs 25:26 – Like a muddied spring or a polluted fountain
is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked.
9. Isaiah 1:24 – Therefore the Lord declares, the Lord of hosts, the Mighty One
of Israel: “Ah, I will get relief from my enemies and avenge myself on my foes.”
10. Isaiah 34:8 – For the Lord has a day of vengeance, a year
of recompense for the cause of Zion.
11. Isaiah 35:4 – Say to those who have an anxious heart, “Be
strong; fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the
recompense of God. He will come and save you.”
12. Isaiah 47:3 – Your nakedness shall be uncovered, and your
disgrace shall be seen. I will take vengeance, and I will spare no one.
13. Isaiah 59:17 – He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and
a helmet of salvation on his head; he put on garments of vengeance for
clothing, and wrapped himself in zeal as a cloak.
14. Isaiah 61:2 – to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, and
the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn;
15. Isaiah 63:4 – For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and
my year of redemption had come.
16. Jeremiah 5:9, 29
Verse 9 – Shall I not punish them for these things? Declares the Lord;
and shall I not avenge myself on a nation such as this?

be sated and drink its fill of their blood. For the Lord God of hosts holds a
sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.
19. Jeremiah 50:28 – “A voice! They flee and escape from the land
of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of the Lord our God, vengeance for
his temple.”
20. Jeremiah 51:6 – “Flee from the midst of Babylon; let every
one save his life! Be not cut off in her punishment, for this is the time of
the Lord’s vengeance, the repayment he is rendering her.”
21. Ezekiel 25:14, 17
Verse 14 – And I will lay my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people
Israel, and they shall do in Edom according to my anger and according to my
wrath, and they shall know my vengeance, declares the Lord God.
Verse 17 – I will execute great vengeance on them with wrathful rebukes. Then
they will know that I am the Lord, when I lay my vengeance upon them.
22. Micah 5:15 – And in anger and wrath I will execute vengeance on the nations
that did not obey.
23. Nahum 1:2, 9
Verse 2 – The Lord is a jealous and avenging and wrathful; the Lord takes
vengeance on his adversaries and keep s wrath for his enemies.
Verse 9 – What do you plot against the Lord? He will make a complete end;
trouble will not rise up a second time.
24. Luke 18:7-8
Verse 7 – And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day
and night? Will he delay long over them?
Verse 8 – I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless,
when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?
25. Luke 21:22 – for these are days of vengeance, to fulfill all that is
written.
26. Romans 12:19 – Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave
it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay,
says the Lord.”
27. Romans 13:4 – for he is God’s servant for your good. But if
you do wrong, be afraid, for he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out
God’s wrath on the wrongdoer.
28. 1 Thessalonians 4:6 – that no one transgress and wrong his brother
in this matter, because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as we told
you beforehand and solemnly warned you.
29. 1 Thessalonians 5:15 – See that no one repays anyone evil for evil,
but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone.
30. 2 Thessalonians 1:6-9
Verse 6 – since indeed God considers it just to repay with affliction
those who afflict you,
Verse 7 – and to grant relief to you who are afflicted as well as to us,
when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels
Verse 8 – in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know
God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
Verse 9 – They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away
from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might.
31. Hebrews 10:30-31
Verse 30 – For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.”
And again, “The Lord will judge his people.”
Verse 31 – It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
32. Hebrews 11:7 – By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning
events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his
household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the
righteousness that comes by faith.
33. Jude 1:7, 9
Verse 7 – just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which
likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as
an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.
Verse 9 – But when the archangel Michael, contending with the devil, was
disputing about the body of Moses, he did not presume to pronounce a blasphemous
judgment, but said, “The Lord rebuke you.”
34. Revelation 2:11 – I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so
that no one may seize your crown.
35. Revelation 6:10 – They cried out with a loud voice, “O
Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you will judge and avenge our
blood on those who dwell on the earth?”
36. Revelation 18:8 – For this reason her plagues will come in a
single day, death and mourning and famine, and she will be burned up with fire;
for mighty is the Lord God who has judged her.
37. Revelation 21:8 – But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the
detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and
all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur,
which is the second death.

As believer, we are encouraged not to be part of those that will revenge on our own because the One who will avenge for us is coming soon, so we should not lose our crown that is awaiting us by trying to take the place of God.
He said, “Vengeance is Mine.” Why are
you trying to avenge the wrong done to you? Is God limited in your heart? Pray
for the grace of God so that we can leave everything under His hands and await
His vengeance at the last day. That’s our hope and believe that Jesus Christ is
coming soon.
