TEXT: 1
Corinthians 7:1-11
1.
About the things you wrote: “It is good for a man not to have relations with a
woman.”
2. But
because of sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman
should have her own husband.
3. A
husband should fulfill his material duty to his wife, and likewise a wife to
her husband.
4. A
wife does not have authority over his own body, but his wife does. Equally, a
husband does not have authority over his own body, but his wife does.
5. Do
not deprive one another- except when you agree, for a time, to devote
yourselves to prayer. Then come together again; otherwise, Satan may tempt you
because of your lack of self-control.
6. I
say this as a concession, not as a command.
7. I
wish that all people were just like me. But each has his own gift from God, one
this and another that.
8. I
say to the unmarried and to widows: It is good for them if they remain as I am.
9. But
if they do not have self-control, they should marry, for it is better to marry
than to burn with desire.
10. I
command the married- not I, but the Lord- a wife is not to leave her husband.
11. But
if she does leave, she must remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband-
and a husband is not to leave his wife.

TOPIC: PLEASE
MARRY
God designed marriage and
has given the blueprint of how it should be run. In line with this, Paul says
that marriage is designed to avoid sexual immorality. And for this reason, the
man and the woman must have access to their bodies unhindered and must not deny
themselves except when they have agreed to set apart some time for prayer.
Widows are encouraged to
marry to avoid sexual sin, if they cannot control their passion. The man and
the woman must remain as a couple as long as they live. Couples must heed the
instruction of the Lord and make sure they do not give room for Satan.
QUESTION: Do
you know that when you deny your partner of his or her conjugal right, you are
disobeying God?
PRAYER:
Help me, Oh Lord, to remain faithful to my marriage partner and be obedient to
You, Amen.
Remain
Blessed
