TEXT: Acts
14:1-7
1. The
same thing occurred in Iconium, where Paul and Barnabas went into the Jewish
synagogue and spoke in such a way that a great number of both Jews and Greeks
became believers.
2. But
the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against
the brothers.
3. So
they remained for a long time, speaking boldly for the Lord, who testified to
the world of his grace by granting signs and wonders to be done through them.
4. But
the residents of the city were divided; some sided with the Jews, and some with
apostles.
5. And
when an attempt was made by both Gentiles and Jews, with their rulers, to
mistreat them and to stone them,
6. the
apostles learned of it and fled to Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and to
the surrounding country;
7. and
there they continued proclaiming the good news.

TOPIC: GOD
GIVES THE POWER TO DO HIS WORK
Anyone who attempts to do
the Lord’s work without depending on His power will certainly meet failure,
frustration and defeat.
Because the Lord empowered
Barnabas and Paul, they preached boldly. He also proved that their message was
true by giving them power to do miraculous signs and wonders.
Some leaders depend on their
academic knowledge, eloquence or experience to do the Lord’s work. The church
or fellowship groups where such leaders preside are bound to experience
spiritual stagnation.
Leaders who must lead the
church or their groups successfully must fully depend on the power of the Holy
Spirit.
QUESTION:
Do
you allow the power of God to lead you in everything that you do?
PRAYER:
Please help me, Father, to surrender to the leadership of the Holy Spirit to
empower me to do His work and in all that I do, Amen.
Remain
Blessed
