Streams in the Desert: Devotions for the Weary Soul

WEDNESDAY, 11 JUNE 2025

TEXT: EPHESIANS 5:15-20

[15] Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise,

[16] making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

[17] Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.

[18] Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit,

[19] speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord,

[20] always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

(New International Version Holy Bible)

TOPIC: ALWAYS SEEK THE WILL OF GOD

In the evil world we live, many things appear as opportunities but are not God's will for His children. As those who desire to do His will, we must always seek to know it. "Be very careful, then, how you live - not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil" (vs.15-18).

Building up our faith daily, as we are doing now, helps us speak to one another with Psalms and through other spiritual activities. This includes daily searching the Bible, the Word of God, to know His mind, which is His will.

Knowing the will of God should be a daily desire, requiring us to live to please Him always and to put His will into action in both the little and big matters of our lives.

QUESTION: How often do you seek to know the will of God in all matters concerning your life?

PRAYER: Let Your will always be mine in all matters of my life and faith, in Jesus' name. Amen!
