TEXT:
Ephesians 4:1-6
1.
So I, the prisoner for the Lord, appeal to you to live a life worthy of the
calling to which you have been called [that is, to live a life that exhibits
godly character, moral courage, personal integrity, and mature behavior-a life
that expresses gratitude to God for your salvation],
2.
with all humility [forsaking self-righteousness], and gentleness [maintaining
self-control], with patience, bearing with one another in [unselfish] love.
3.
Make every effort to keep the oneness of the Spirit in the bond of peace [each
individual working together to make the whole successful].
4.
There is one body [of believers] and one Spirit just as you were called to one
hope when called [to salvation]-
5.
one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6.
one God and Father of us all who is [sovereign] over all and [working] through
all and [living] in all.
(Amplified Version Holy Bible)
TOPIC:
LIVING AS CHILDREN OF LIGHT
The Christian life is
supposed to reflect the goodness of the Lord in all ramifications.
It should be contagious
so as to attract other people into a wonderful relationship with the Lord Jesus
Christ.
Paul encouraged the
Ephesus believers and, by extension all Christians, to live lives worthy of the
calling they had received.
Their lives should be
characterized by humility, gentleness, patience, bearing with one another in
love and making every effort to keep the unity of the spirit as well as the
bond of peace, among others.
When these attributes
manifest in Christians, the testimony of Christ will continue unhindered. As
you carry on living your life, ensure that the way you live leaves a mark that
should draw others to Him.
QUESTION:
Does your life reflect those attributes that Christ expects from you?
PRAYER:
Dear Father, please grant me the enablement to represent You wherever I find
myself so that I can leave a mark in the lives of others, in Jesus name. Amen.
Remain
Blessed
