TOPIC:
GOD USES NEBUCHADNEZZAR
That
God used King Nebuchadnezzar as an instrument in His hands contradicts many
doctrines of 21st Century African churches.
In
Nigeria, there is the popular theology of "back to sender" which goes
against what God did to Judah through King Nebuchadnezzar.
Hear
God speaking: "I will hand over your countries over to my servant
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; I will make even the wild animals subject to
him..."
Earlier
in chapter 26, God had warned Judah to "reform your ways and your actions
and obey the LORD your God" or judgment will be sent down. But since Judah
persists in rebellion, God will fulfil His Word and ordain Nebuchadnezzar to
carry out the punishment against His people.
God
reserves the right to use anyone or anything to execute His command, including
using unbelievers to punish His children (vs 5).
The
church's suffering under unbelieving leaders may as well be God's way of
calling us to repent and return to Him.
QUESTION: Will
you examine your life the next time you encounter challenges and persecution
because these may be God's way of speaking out to you?
PRAYER: O
God, give the grace to hear whenever You call out to me, in Jesus name. Amen.
