TEXT:
Luke 2:15-20
15.
When the angels had gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds began saying
one to another, “Let us go straight to Bethlehem, and see this [wonderful]
thing that has happened which the Lord has made known to us.”
16.
So they went in a hurry and found their way to Mary and Joseph, and the Baby as
He lay in the manger.
17.
And when they had seen this, they made known what had been told them about this
child,
18.
and all who heard it were astounded and wondered at what the shepherds told
them.
19.
But Mary treasured all these things, giving careful thought to them and
pondering them in her heart.
20.
The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all that they had heard
and seen, just as it had been told them.

Version Holy Bible)
TOPIC:
CELEBRATE CHRIST LIKE THE SHEPHERDS
During Christmas, many
believers lay a lot of emphasis on clothes and excessive eating and drinking
above worship. But the shepherds (Luke 2:15-20). Demonstrated a very high sense
of godliness in celebrating Christ’s birth, which we should emulate.
They left their flocks
and hurried to see the new born baby. They considered the good news of Christ’s
birth above their flock. There was no need for elaborate preparations,
sumptuous food and new clothes.
To see the baby Jesus
was their main priority. If you know and respect God, you will leave all else
to worship Him. They also spread the good news of Christ. They gave testimony
about the child they saw.
Thus people who heard
were “amazed” and “Mary treasured up all these.”
Third, the shepherds
kept celebrating on their way back. We should not end this Christmas
celebrating in the church alone. We should spread the good news to those we
meet on the way, at home and at any gathering rather than engaging in unworthy
activities. Please, celebrate like the shepherds did (Luke 2:15-20).
QUESTION:
How am I celebrating my Christmas?
PRAYER:
Lord, help and lead me to testify, glorify and praise God like the shepherds in
Luke 2:15-20.
Remain
Blessed
