TEXT: 1
Corinthians 1:1-9
1.
Paul, called by the will of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus, and our
brother Sos’thenes,
2. To
the church of God which is at Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus,
called to be saints together with all those who in every place call on the name
of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours.
3.
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
4. I
give thanks to God always for you because of the grace of God which was given
you in Christ Jesus,
5.
that in every way you were enriched in him with all speech and all knowledge--
6.
even as the testimony to Christ was confirmed among you--
7. so
that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift, as you wait for the revealing
of our Lord Jesus Christ;
8. who
will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9. God
is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus
Christ our Lord.

TOPIC: PAUL’S
LETTER
You will probably wonder why
Paul had to write this letter to the Corinthian brethren. The reasons include
the following: to greet and make them know that they are a people who have been
called by God and made holy through Jesus Christ, to pray for them, to thank
God for the spiritual gifts from the Lord, to let them know that the Lord will
keep them strong and for them to have partnership with Jesus Christ.
Letter writing may not be
common today, but through God’s wisdom and provision, we can send text
messages, use WhatsApp, Twitter, Instagram, the internet, television and any
other modern means of communication to encourage brethren.
QUESTION: Do
you know that you can use any means, indeed modern ones, to encourage fellow
brethren?
PRAYER:
Help me, dear Lord, to use every means at my disposal to encourage fellow
brethren, in Jesus name, Amen.
Remain
Blessed
