TEXT: 1
Corinthians 4:1-7
1. LET
a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the
mysteries of God.
2.
Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
3. But
with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man’s
judgment: yea, I judge not my own self.
4. For
I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but He that judges me
is the Lord.
5.
Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will
bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the
counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
6. And
these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos
for your sakes; that you might learn in us not to think of men above that which
is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.
7. For
who makes you to differ from another? And what have you that you did not
receive? Now if you did receive it, why do you glory, as if you had not
received it?

James Version Easy Reading Holy Bible)

REASON TO BE PROUD
Some people delight in
flaunting themselves and taking the praise of men for what the Lord has done or
is doing through them.
But not so with Apollos and
Paul. In spite of what the Lord had done through them, they regarded themselves
as MERE servants of Christ who have been put in charge of explaining God’s
mysteries.
They were mainly concerned
about letting Christ be seen as the reason for their achievements and not
themselves.
They also made it known that
there was no basis for them to boast because all they had was given to them by
God. If the Lord is doing anything through you, please let others know so that
He alone will be praised.
QUESTION: How
often do you give glory to god for what He has done and is doing in your life
and through you?
PRAYER:
Lord, I thank You for all that You are doing in and through me. May Your name
forever be glorified, in Jesus name, Amen.
Remain
Blessed
